Press Release: New Zealand Government
Heatley puts his foot in his mouth over
housing
National's Housing spokesman Phil Heatley owes
Housing New Zealand an apology, Housing Minister Chris
Carter said today.
"Mr Heatley attacked the corporation
this morning demanding to know how a large-scale immigration
scam was being run from a state house without Housing New
Zealand knowing," Mr Carter said.
"Heatley should have
done his home work before putting his foot in his mouth. The
corporation contacted the Police earlier this week after it
became concerned about activities in the house following a
routine inspection.
"Mr Heatley can rest assured that
Housing New Zealand is doing its job, even if he isn't."
