Press Release: New Zealand National Party

More costs for small
business
“The Government should stop hammering small
business and allow choice in accident insurance”, says
National Party Economic Development spokeswoman Katherine
Rich.
“I am astounded that once again ACC is recommending
to the Minister a significant hike in the self-employed ACC
rate.”
She is responding to ACC’s release yesterday of
its 2006/2007 recommended ACC levy rates.
“Most
self-employed are in small business. They have no choice
but to accept any Government increase in the rates.
“I
encourage the Minister to reject ACC’s recommendations to
increase the self-employed rate because the impact on small
businesses will be unacceptable,” says Mrs
Rich.
