UF welcomes PM's climate change commitment

United Future leader Peter Dunne is delighted the Prime Minister has picked up his recent suggestion of a multi-party Parliamentary conference on climate change.

"Helen Clark told the House today that the idea was a good one and she looked forward to such a conference being held early next year," said Mr Dunne.

"With all the parties in the House saying action must be taken to reduce human-induced climate change, there is clearly no better time for New Zealand to make sound decisions which can be agreed by all parties and will survive the three-year electoral cycle.

"I welcome this outbreak of Parliamentary unity and hope it will continue long into the future for the benefit of all New Zealand," said Mr Dunne.
