8th Commonwealth Women's Affairs Ministers Meeting(11-14
June, Kampala, Uganda)
Nanaia Mahuta is representing the New Zealand Government at the 8th Commonwealth Women's Affairs Ministers Meeting (8WAMM) to be held in Kampala, Uganda from 11-14 June, Kampala, Uganda.
The focus of the meeting is "Financing gender equality for development and democracy".
The conference will bring together around 300 representatives from 51 Commonwealth member countries, partner agencies and the private sector.
Member countries will reflect on tracking funds and enhancing resources for promoting gender equality, and progress made on the Commonwealth Plan of Action for Gender Equality 2005-2015.
Recommendations from 8WAMM will be presented for endorsement to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Uganda in November 2007.
