King welcomes justice challenge
Annette King says she welcomes the challenge of adding the Justice portfolio to her existing Police and Transport roles.
"This Government is committed to taking a cross-agency approach to creating safer communities all around New Zealand, and that has been my major focus as Police Minister. That emphasis will continue now I have Justice as well.
"I will also take a particular interest in the whole area of victims' rights and victim support. While the Government will remain committed to reducing and preventing crime, too often the impact of crime on victims does not receive the attention it should. I am determined to keep a focus on victims right at the forefront of my approach in this portfiolio."
