Dunne encouraged by Nats’ policy theft

UnitedFuture leader Peter Dunne says he’s encouraged to see National leader John Key claiming credit for UnitedFuture’s successful policy of removing the cap on tax rebates for charitable donations in a recent speech to the Forest and Bird society

“This is an excellent policy that will take effect from April and is just one of UnitedFuture’s superbly thought-out and costed policies that we are happy to share with the National Party,” he said.

“Given the National Party’s current policy vacuum, we’d be happy to see them adopt our tax policy which would set personal tax rates at 10%, 20% and 30% and would align top personal, company and trust tax rates at 30%.

“This is a simple, affordable tax system that National should support.

“We have many other fine policies National is welcome to adopt, recognising that while they have the numbers in Parliament, UnitedFuture has the fresh ideas,” said Mr Dunne.
