MP welcomes $150,000.00 to
support the Chinese New Settlers Services Trust, Tamaki
Pathways Trust and the Salvation Army Trust NZ - Auckland

Peseta Sam Lotu-Iiga, MP for Maungakiekie, welcomes the Government's announcement of $150,000.00 to support the Chinese New Settlers Services Trust ($50,000.00), Tamaki Pathways Trust ($50,000.00) and the Salvation Army Trust NZ - Auckland City Community Ministries ($50,000.00).
The Government has announced the recipients of the fourth round of the Community Response Fund, which has granted almost $8 million to 170 community groups around the country.
"This funding boost will a go a long way to helping the Chinese New Settlers Services Trust, Tamaki Pathways Trust and the Salvation Army Trust NZ (Auckland City Community Ministries) meet the needs of our community," says Peseta Sam Lotu-Iiga, MP for Maungakiekie.
"These social services groups are critical to our local communities. We know that they have had to keep up with increased demand during the economic downturn.
"They do some truly great work for families, providing a wide range of services”.
Total Community Response Fund assistance has reached $33.6 million. The fund was established in May 2009 in response to the economic downturn. It assists groups providing vital social services under severe financial strain or experiencing increased demand.
