Dunedin Policing Changes – Community Meeting

Dunedin South MP Clare Curran is holding a community meeting this week to discuss the proposed changes to Dunedin Police. The meeting will take place this Wednesday 1 December at 1.30pm, in the Green Room, Mayfair Theatre.

At the beginning of the month an internal report to police staff outlined proposed changes to Dunedin’s police structure which could see officers moved out of suburban police stations and into centralised teams.

“I am concerned about the implications these changes will have, particularly in the South Dunedin and Green Island communities. This meeting will give community members an opportunity to have their say. The community needs to feel safe, and I need to make sure that they can be assured of their safety,” Clare Curran said.
