Kevin Hague, Green Party ACC spokesperson, will speak at a conference on Reviewing NZ's Accident Compensation System tomorrow.
"There was no financial crisis in ACC. It is now abundantly clear that a 'crisis' was manufactured by the Government to undermine and privatise ACC. There is no excuse for cutting support to accident victims," Mr Hague said.
The Green Party believed ACC could be a world leading system that was fair for all accident victims, but this Government had deliberately undermined it, added Mr Hague.
"An independent review of the changes to ACC is needed to ensure that accident victims receive the support they deserve," said Mr Hague.
