NZ Historic Places Trust board member appointed
Businessman Brian McGuinness has been appointed to the New Zealand Historic Places Trust Board of Trustees, Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage Christopher Finlayson announced today.
Mr McGuinness is currently Managing Director of the construction company LT McGuinness, which he owns with two of his brothers. He has been involved in many significant heritage projects during his 36 years in the industry, including work on Premier House and as chairman of the St Mary of the Angels Property, Restoration and Maintenance Committee. Recently Mr McGuinness was involved in the major restoration of Government House which drew on his skills and expertise in the field of heritage conservation.
He is involved with many charities, including the St Patrick’s College Silverstream Board of Directors, is associated with the Futuna Chapel as a trustee of the Friends of Futuna Charitable Trust.
Mr McGuinness has been appointed for a three year term, effective from 1 June 2011 to 31 May 2014.
