Su'a William Sio Tribute to Sir Paul Reeves

Su'a William Sio Tribute to Sir Paul Reeves

Sir Paul Reeves was an unfaltering champion of the youth of Manukau, a devoted advocate for people to stay connected irrespective of their differences, and a close and genuine friend of Pacific peoples.

Through Sir Paul Reeves, many of the youth of Manukau were given unique opportunities to share their creative & musical talents with audiences they would not normally perform for, which included the top echelon of New Zealand society in business, academia, and politics.

These opportunities were examples of Sir Paul's determination for all New Zealanders to maintain human connections especially between rich & poor, Remuera & South Auckland, old & young, and between Pakeha and the browning population of Aotearoa New Zealand. He manifested through his good manners respect and dignity for all peoples, irrespective of their race, colour, social position, age and religion. He was completely genuine in his pursuit for the youth to succeed and reach their fullest potential.

We will miss Sir Paul Reeves. We have lost a good and geuine friend who was well respected by the people of Manukau and the wider Pacific region.

It is my prayer that Lady Beverley and their family will find peace and comfort in the extraordinary legacy Sir Paul Reeves has left behind. May the blessings of Heaven be upon Lady Beverley and their family, and may the dark clouds that hover over them now quickly dissipate.

Haere, haere, haere ra, e rangatira. Ia manuia lau malaga. Safe journey to the Heavens.

Su'a William Sio MP for Mangere
