Employment Court Judge appointed

Auckland District Court Judge Christina Inglis, has been appointed an Employment Court Judge to be based in Auckland, Attorney-General Christopher Finlayson announced today.

Judge Inglis was appointed to the District Court Bench in 2010, and has sat in Manukau. Prior to that appointment she had a broad range of experience, including significant experience in employment law.

She appeared numerous times in the Employment Court and the Employment Relations Authority and its predecessor, the Employment Tribunal. Judge Inglis was a member of the Employment Law Committee of the Wellington District Law Society and is a former legal adviser at the Land Transport Safety Authority and team leader of Crown Law’s Human Rights Team.

She graduated with a Master of Arts with Honours from Canterbury University and a Master of Laws with Honours from Victoria University.

Judge Inglis will take up her new position on 30 September 2011.
