Greens ACC plan well received by Minister

The Green Party is heartened by ACC Minister Judith Collins’ positive response to much our ACC Rehabilitation Plan, following the first of on-going discussions between the parties about a way forward for ACC.

Green Party ACC spokesperson Kevin Hague outlined a 12 step plan for ACC after the resignation of most of its board and publicity about privacy breaches and other problems at the corporation.

At a meeting today Ms Collins welcomed much of the plan, but ruled out a change in the way ACC is funded to the ‘pay as you go’ model advocated by the Green Party.

“It’s heartening to see the Minister is open to a culture change at ACC and agrees with us that the ACC model of no fault compensation and rehabilitation is worth preserving for future generations,” Mr Hague said.

Ms Collins and Mr Hague have agreed to continue to meet informally to discuss ACC.
