Is $1.15c too much more to clean Prime Minister's office?

MANA Leader Hone Harawira

16 August 2012

Is $1.15c too much more to clean the Prime Minister's office?

“Who earns $400,000 a year and has investments of $50 million, but won’t pay his cleaner more than $13.85 an hour? Answer - John Key. What a sad fullah,” said MANA leader Hone Harawira.

“No wonder the country’s going to the dogs …”. Harawira was referring to the fact that government refused to top up the cleaners' wages from $13.85 to $15.00 an hour.

“Government spent $8 million creating a department (the Ministry of Science and Innovation) that they dumped after 17 months” said Harawira, “but they won’t pay a measly 15 cents an hour to the people who have been cleaning their offices for the last 100 years”.

“C’mon John Key – have a heart”.
