Appointments to Lottery Distribution Committees
Internal Affairs Minister Chris Tremain today announced 22 appointments across 10 Lottery Distribution Committees.
Most of the appointments start in September this year when current terms expire. There are four new members and 18 reappointments.
“Distribution committees fund a range of great projects and programmes and make a major contribution to communities up and down the country, says Mr Tremain.
“The appointees bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and community connections, and will help ensure the committees continue to be well-placed to do their work.”
Lottery Health Research Committee – Kirsty Murrell-McMillan has been reappointed and Barbara Docherty and Dr Margaret Southwick have been appointed as Members.
Lottery Marae Heritage and Facilities Committee – Kevin Prime has been reappointed as a member and Brian Joyce has been reappointed as Presiding Member.
Lottery National Community Committee and Lottery Outdoor Safety Committee – the two committees share the same membership. Jennifer Mahoney and Dr Debbie Ryan have been reappointed as Members.
Lottery World War One Commemorations, Environment and Heritage – Bruce Hamilton and John Nankervis have been reappointed as Members.
Lottery Community Facilities Committee and Lottery Significant Projects Committee – the two committees share the same membership. Mary Bourke has been reappointed as Presiding Member. Janie Annear, William Plunkett and George Sue have been reappointed as Members.
Lottery Auckland Community Committee – Marina Vaha has been appointed as a Member.
Lottery Manawatu/Whanganui Community Committee – Ruth Rainey has been appointed as a Member.
Lottery Waikato Community Committee – Marijke Westphal has been reappointed as a Member.
Lottery Distribution Committees make grants for community purposes, using money allocated by the Lottery Grants Board from the profits of New Zealand lotteries. There are 9 national committees focused on particular themes or issues and 11 regional committees with a general community focus.
