New appointment to NZ Tourism Board

Prime Minister and Tourism Minister John Key has today announced the appointment of Raewyn Idoine to the New Zealand Tourism Board.

Mrs Idoine has an extensive background in the tourism industry having established the Sir George Seymour National College of Tourism and Travel, Natcoll.

“Raewyn’s in depth knowledge of tourism training adds a fresh perspective as we continue the push towards our goal of raising the total value of tourism to $41 billion by 2025.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jenn Bestwick for her commitment and service to the Board over the last three years,” says Mr Key.

Mr Key also announced the reappointment of Kerry Prendergast as Chair of the Board, and Richard Leggat, John Thorburn and Jamie Tuuta as members.

“I would like to thank Kerry, Richard, John and Jamie for their work on the Board and look forward to the continuing contribution they will make to the leadership of TNZ,” says Mr Key.

The New Zealand Tourism Board (known as Tourism New Zealand) is a Crown entity, responsible for ensuring that New Zealand is effectively marketed as a visitor destination in order to maximise long-term benefits to New Zealand.
