New Zealand Labour sends condolences to UK
The New Zealand Labour Party is sickened and saddened by the murder of British Labour MP Jo Cox, Labour Leader Andrew Little says.
“Ms Cox was killed in cold blood while simply doing her job as a constituent MP. She was a politician dedicated to helping others and making the world a better place.
“MPs anywhere in the world should be able to carry out their democratic duties without fear of violent attack.
“Ms Cox had a close connection to the New Zealand Labour Party, being a former colleague of our MP Phil Twyford when the pair worked together at Oxfam International.
“New Zealand Labour sends its heartfelt condolences to Jo Cox’s family, friends and her colleagues on all sides of British politics,” Andrew Little says.
