Parliamentary Pōwhiri marks Māori Rugby League tournament

On Friday Labour’s Ikaroa-Rāwhiti MP Meka Whaitiri will be hosting the Pōwhiri to mark the New Zealand Māori Rugby League’s 24th National Tuakana Tournament in Wainuiomata over Labour weekend.

“It is an honour to host this Pōwhiri on the occasion of the New Zealand Māori Rugby League’s 24th National Tuakana Tournament.

“The National Tuakana Tournament is one of the best rugby league events on the calendar and a true celebration of Māori rugby league.

“Wellington has a long and proud history with NZMRL, and it’s great that this event has returned to the Wellington province after a 15-year break,” says Meka Whaitiri.
