Mt Roskill campaign officially launched

Mt Roskill campaign officially launched

National’s candidate for the Mt Roskill by-election Dr Parmjeet Parmar officially kicked off her campaign today at an event with Rt Hon John Key and over 100 supporters.

Dr Parmar, currently a List MP based in Mt Roskill, outlined her commitment to running a strong campaign focused on the issues that matter to locals.

“This by-election is about ensuring the wonderfully diverse and inclusive Mt Roskill communities have an electorate MP that understands local concerns and has the skills to get things done.

“For the last two years, I’ve been working hard and advocating strongly for local issues as National’s List MP based here.

“I’m out there talking with the community about improving safety on our streets and in our homes and businesses; improving roads, public transport and parking; creating more affordable housing, especially for young people; and supporting our fantastic local businesses.

“These are the big issues that matter in this by-election.

“Labour has taken this seat for granted. Mt Roskill residents deserve an effective electorate MP with the experience, mandate and resources to really stand up for our families and businesses.

“As a mother, a scientist, a businesswoman, and a dedicated community advocate, I am the only candidate with the local track record of experience and success in getting things done on Mt Roskill’s behalf.”

Dr Parmar and the Prime Minister also spent the morning visiting local businesses and attended the launch of a project to upgrade Walmsley & Underwood Reserves.
