Appointment of Deputy Commissioner Inquiry extended

Internal Affairs Minister Tracey Martin today announced the Inquiry into the Appointment Process for a Deputy Commissioner of Police has been extended by five weeks.

The Inquiry was expected to report back within six weeks of its commencement on August 6. It will now report back by November 2.

“Inquiry member Mary Scholtens QC asked for the extension to be able to interview a higher number of people than was originally anticipated,” Minister Martin said.
