Shadow Attorney-General honours former Chief Justice
Shadow Attorney-General Chris Finlayson has today offered his condolences to the family of the late Sir Thomas Eichelbaum and the judiciary following the death of the former Chief Justice.
“Sir Thomas Eichelbaum was a great Chief Justice. I appeared before him on many occasions. He demanded the highest standards but was always just and compassionate.
“Sir Thomas was a fine administrator and leader of the judiciary.
“Sir Thomas Eichelbaum made a tremendous contribution to the administration of justice in New Zealand, he will rank as one of our outstanding judicial leaders alongside Sir Richard Wild and Sir Robert Stout.
“He was a great
