Clark: NZ First offers confusion, not change

Labour
2000 web siteLabour Leader Helen Clark said today that the best way of ensuring a change of government at the next election was for voters to support parties who are committed to change.

"A vote for Labour is a vote for a change in government. A vote for New Zealand First is a vote for confusion.

"In the last twenty-four hours the leader of New Zealand First has performed another dance of the seven veils.

"New Zealand First is by no means committed to the change in government which a clear majority of New Zealanders have consistently indicated they want.

"Few New Zealanders now relish the prospect of a hamstrung minority government dependent on the votes of a rag-tag mob of supporters. The shambles that has created in this Parliamentary term has not been edifying," Helen Clark said.
