Former Labour Minister Takes A Swipe At Labour’s Integrity

Former Labour Minister Trevor de Cleene has taken a swipe at the Labour party’s integrity.

In a Listener article this week Mr de Cleene, when asked about the party’s 1984 election manifesto, said, “All political parties make promises they don’t keep. If people are stupid enough to believe parties’ promises, then they don’t deserve to vote.”

“Labour’s followers thought they could trust the party but now they are being told they are stupid if they do so, ” Enterprise and Commerce Minister Max Bradford said.

“If voters couldn’t trust the Labour party to keep its promises in 1984, how can people trust them now?”

“Mr de Cleen must feel the same way since he says he won’t be voting for Labour this year,” Mr Bradford said
