Leave Catherine Alone: Henare

Mauri Pacific Leader Tau Henare today called on the Labour party to cut the controversial Labour party ad featuring Catherine Holloway saying it was causing the Auckland woman undue stress.

Mr Henare said National's Roger Sowry should also stop playing politics with the woman at the centre of the ad.

Catherine Holloway today called Mr Henare saying all she wanted was what she was entitled to and to be left alone.

Instead she'd been caught up in a game of political football between both Labour and National.

"If I was the ref they both would've been red carded and Catherine would've been awarded a penalty try," said Mr Henare.

"It shows both the Nats and Labour will use any tool to get re-elected, even hoodwinking a mum who all she wants is a decent house and to be left alone."

Mr Henare said though Catherine had chosen to do the ad freely, the following political fallout had caused unnecessary anxiety.

"My call is to Roger [Sowry] to make sure she's getting what she's entitled to; and to the Labour Party to can the ad," he said.
