Labour Youth follow the Leader in insults

The ‘feral bastards’ Internet column by Young Labours Vice President Jordan Carter is one of the most arrogant and despicable articles I have ever seen, says Young Nationals Chair Daniel Gordon.

“Mr Carter is showing a contempt for the West Coast equal to that of his Leader, Helen Clark. It’s hard to believe that the West Coast was the birthplace of the Labour Party!

“The comments serve to highlight Labours high-handed and arrogant attitude to the Coast. This Government’s approach is ‘like it or lump it’ – that’s Labour for you.

“Mr Carter should swallow his pride and do what his Leader refuses to – apologise to Coasters.

“His comments are yet another slap in the face to Coasters, who are faced with trying to make a living in a region whose natural resources have been completely locked up.

“Labour should get down from their ivory tower and face the people their forestry policy will affect – not the ballet dancers and musicians, but the loggers and the truckers who want a future for their region,” Daniel Gordon said.
