Dear Steve, Your Picture Incomplete

Dear Minister,

I see you welcome the latest unemployment statistics, saying they are ‘part of a trend’ which showed up at the end of last year. Quite right Minister, but you’re ignoring the real trend, for every other statistic is indubitably negative!

The numbers on DPB are up. Sickness Beneficiaries are up by 8.4%; Independent Youth Benefits are up by 4.3%; benefits for Caring for Sick or Infirm – up by 10.6%; Accommodation Supplements – 1685 more.

Most New Zealanders don’t even know what these benefits are. All they know is they are paying more and more moochers to be on them. That, Minister might excite you, but it certainly doesn't me.

"It’s hard to get excited about unemployment being down, Minister, when it appears many more people are suckling off Nanny’s teat. The State robs the pockets of the productive, and the souls of the non- productive. As long as this trend continues you will eventually succeed: Succeed in killing this country with Nanny’s "kindness."
