Snuggling Up To Murderers Revolts Libertarianz

Government's Repeated Snuggling Up To Murderers Revolts Libertarianz

"Utter revulsion" is how Libertarianz Leader Peter Cresswell describes Defence Minister Mark Burton's attendance at a reception to honour the Chinese People's Libertarion Army.

"It is clear that when Helen Clark said earlier this year that there should be 'closer relations' between the New Zealand Army and the PLA that she wasn't just speaking diplomatic niceties".

"New Zealanders died at the hands of that army, under the guise of "Chinese People's Volunteers" who intervened in the Korean war to save the butchering totalitarians of North Korea. Innocent civilians protesting for free speech and the right to question the government were killed at the hands of that army, but this government "honours" them. Do not Mr Burton and Helen Clark have ANY respect for NZ Army veterans and their families? Did the university students who died for freedom in Tiananmen Square die in vain?" scowls Cresswell.

"It is one thing for this Labour/Alliance socialist government to acknowledge and maintain relations with the Chinese government, but another to openly and flagrantly grant respect to murderous arms of the regime."

"It is fair to say that every member of this Labour/Alliance government opposed authoritarian dictatorship in South Africa under apartheid. The South African apartheid regime arrested people without trial, murdered political prisoners and imposed a rule of violence against the population. So too does the Chinese communist regime."

"What is the difference?" wonders Cresswell, "Why is it okay to respect murderers in the name of socialism, but not apartheid?" It's enough to make you vote Libertarianz!
