“Green Team” to launch local body campaign

Green candidates for the upcoming local body elections in the Wellington region will be launching their campaign with a high-tech theme at (e)-vision (corner of Blair and Wakefield Streets, Wellington) on August 9th from 5.30 pm – 6.30 pm.

The launch will focus on the most important issues to voters. In Wellington, these were identified in the Evening Post’s survey of local body election issues. In Porirua, the local Greens carried out a similar survey that also identified the most important issues to voters. The candidates will present Green policy on these issues.

The campaign launch will also showcase the Green local body election website. The website will be projected onto a large screen and individual PCs will be available for reporters to access the website and individual candidate’s home pages. Candidates will be on hand to answer questions.

Organic wine, juice and nibbles will be served.

The candidates are Celia Wade-Brown (Southern Ward, Wellington City), Brent Efford (Lambton Ward, Wellington City), Olivia Mitchell (Northern Ward, Porirua City), Meg Craigie (Upper Hutt) and Alison White (Capital and Coast District Health Board).
