August 6, 2001 - Wellington

Members of the Forest and Bird’s Kiwi Conservation Club today presented their letters supporting more action to protect Hector’s dolphin to the Minister of Conservation, Sandra Lee.

Forest and Bird Society Senior Researcher, Barry Weeber, said “Hector’s dolphin is found only in New Zealand waters and the North Island sub-species is recognised by the World Conservation Union as a critically endangered threatened species.”
