Welfare The Sound of Libertarian Laughter

"Today, we Libertarianz are laughing at statements from Sue Bradford," said Libertarianz associate social welfare spokesman, Sally O'Brien.

"The work-for-the-dole scheme, which Ms. Bradford said 'punishes people for the crime of being unemployed,' should be abolished."

"Give me a break," says O'Brien. "Sue Bradford is quite happy for New Zealanders to pay for people to bludge off them - for lazy bludgers to sit on their backsides and do nothing, while honest New Zealanders work hard and support them. She's quite happy for we workers and producers to have our hard-earned cash stolen from our pockets to support her twisted, lazy ideals."

O'Brien says a Libertarianz government would stop this ridiculous ethic of "moral cannibalism" – able-bodied people should not be rewarded for not working she says! "We would stop the government spending expropriated funds from productive people, leaving those productive people free to create more real jobs," she concludes, "and we would steadily reduce state spending on both the unemployment benefit and the work-for-the-dole scheme."

"It's enough to make you vote Libertarianz!"
