CTU condemns Carter Holt tactics
“It seems very clear that the Carter Holt negotiators deliberately broke down the Kinleith negotiations yesterday and should be condemned for it” CTU president Ross Wilson
“The information I am getting is that a settlement was in prospect before Carter Holt negotiators deliberately tabled a proposal both parties had accepted was not a runner several months ago” he said
“It appears that Carter Holt are game playing and don’t want this dispute to be settled”.
“These are industrial relations tactics from the past and raise serious issues about the credibility of one of New Zealand’s largest employers.” Ross Wilson said.
“AS retiring CHH Chair Wilson Whineray said last week both parties need to compromise” he said “Clearly his own company didn’t heed that message”.
“The CTU will be calling on all unions to
continue the financial and other support to the Kinleith
workers and their
union”
