Te Ope Maori Hikoi Kia Toa

Te Ope Maori Hikoi Kia Toa:

The GE Free LANDLORD March, Saturday 11 October

Te Ope Maori Hikoi kia toa

Te Ope Maori kia kaha ra

Te Ope Maori hikoi kia kororia ai

Mauria te honore o te Iwi

Ka hikoi matou ki te hoariri

Whawhaitia tae noa ki te mutunga

AU-E!, ake, ake kia kaha e!

It's been dubbed, "Te Hikoi Nui," the big march for a GE Free Aotearoa, a movement that has seen an overwhelming majority of Maori identify that the power base of the State is hastily eroding as foreign interests and biotech companies muscle their way through the jittering ethics of a labour government.

In what represents the latest "DNA mining" of whakapapa Maori, it is becoming evident that the State is set to make another economic blunder by lifting the moratorium on GE this October 29th. GE FREE advocates are being called to support future generations by participating in "The Big March" this Saturday, October 11th. This is the call for a new generation to STEP UP!

Genetic Engineering is the latest show of the irreversible legacy of pollution that has coincided with growing corporate preponderance in Aotearoa. And while councils and government maintain sluggish environmental management regimes, a new generation will content with the laborious task of defending the earth from politicians and people who should know better.

There is a changing wind flowing upon Papatuanuku and it is bringing with it the message of renewal and regeneration. While the old guard persists within a culture that has become disloated from the cloak of creation, the new kaitieki will not sever our whakapapa to the land nor discard the korowai of our mother.

We are in a time when a society based on conquest has become a tired myth imposed by leaders of a by-gone-day. And as their political theatres weaken under the empire of a new global order where corporations rule, young people throughout Aotearoa will be forced to become the new LANDLORDS of Aotearoa.

The LANDLORDS will be a generation who will defend, resist and guard the land from a leadership that continues to welcome environmental plunder.

Pentrate the collective consciousness that is Te Ao Maori and answer the call to STEP UP! The country needs your sanity. It is time to rebuild a society that is not based on conquest, but a culture that is sustainable and nurtures our spirits, our bodies and our minds.

Be a LANDLORD and retain your mana whenua, on Saturday October 11th. The rally begins at 12 noon, bottom of Queen St.
