Statement From TVNZ Board of Directors
The TVNZ Board of
Directors is pleased that the Auditor General's report on Dr
Ross Armstrong now brings to a close the speculation and
rumour that has surrounded the exercise.
Acting Chairman,
Rob Fenwick, says that while the Auditor General's report on
the former chairman's expenses while he was at the helm of
the broadcaster covers a wide range of concerns, as far as
TVNZ is concerned, all appropriate measures have been taken
to ensure no such instance can occur again.
"Even before
the investigation had begun, the TVNZ Board and management
had moved to tighten up auditing procedures on directors'
expenses."
Rob Fenwick says that while the issue is now
behind the Company there have been valuable lessons learnt
in the process of reviewing procedures.
