PSA talks with ACC on workplace issues
The major union representing workers in ACC with over 600 members is actively engaging with ACC to resolve workplace issues, PSA national secretary Richard Wagstaff said today.
Richard Wagstaff said the employer and the union were due to go into negotiations in two weeks time and high on the list of issues to discuss were workloads and the associated pressures facing our members in delivering services to the public”. “The PSA has an active dialogue with the ACC Chief Executive directly over these and other issues. The union is committed to supporting our members on issues relating to workplace behaviour and culture and ACC is no exception. ACC understands that PSA members can and will raise issues with their PSA delegates in the expectation that the Corporation will respond constructively to any concerns.”
“Internationally Unions are responding to
growing demands by members to improve the quality of the
workplace environment. The PSA is experiencing the same and
we are developing training resources to support delegates
and members dealing with workplace bullying. The PSA has
also taken the issue up with the State Services Commission
to discuss ways of making workplaces safer. Much remains to
be
done”.
