Launch of Amnesty International Annual Report 2004
Information for journalists and broadcasters

Amnesty International's Report 2004 will be launched at the Foreign Press Association in London on 26 May 2004 at 9:00pm NZ time (9:00am GMT).

The Report 2004 reflects the activities we undertook during the year to promote human rights and to campaign against specific human rights abuses, plus an authoritative survey of the human rights situation in 155 countries and territories during 2003, reporting on areas of work prioritised by Amnesty International.

Journalists will be able to watch a live webcast of the launch press conference at http://news.amnesty.org. Media materials for the launch will also be available from the site.

Radio broadcasters will be able to download the audio news release by visiting http://radio.oneworld.net.

Amnesty International's Report 2004 video news release will be transmitted via satellite feed. There will be four satellite feeds on 26 May. Three will be on the APTN's Global Video Wire at 07:00 GMT, 12:30 GMT and 22:00 GMT. The fourth will be at 12.00 GMT for those who do not subscribe to APTN.
