How To Help Flooded Farmers

How To Help Flooded Farmers

Federated Farmers of New Zealand (Inc) has reactivated its free phone flood line and email flood-aid address to help farmers in the Bay of Plenty.

Farmers needing assistance should immediately contact 0800 FFLOOD or 0800 335 663. The calls will be routed to Federated Farmers' call centre in Hamilton.

The floods have come at a very difficult time for farmers about to begin the calving season.

Farmers and others offering assistance should send an email to flooding@fedfarm.org.nz or ring 0800 FARMING (0800 327 646). We will do our best to channel those offers to the people most in need.

Items needed include pasture and feed, stock transport, and people to help shift stock and clean up.

The phone line and email address were highly effective in February and March to help farmers devastated by the lower North Island floods.
