Grey Power Open Letter To Phil Goff

Grey Power Open Letter To Phil Goff Re; Criminal Compensation "Criminal"

After six months dilly-dally we are now told that this Government is going to place International Human Rights ahead of our own community, bowing to criminals who feel they have had a bit of hardship brought against them. What a laugh!, when it is they who have inflicted so much on their victims and are now bleeding the Taxpayers for more compensation.

Who paid for the initial defence of these "people" when going for trial, who now feel they have more rights than Joe Citizen? Legal Aid - Taxpayers money.

Who paid the lawyers to bring their "hardship" claims to court? Legal Aid - Taxpayers money.

Who is footing the Bill for Compensation to these Criminals who are better off inside than they would be on the ouside? Taxpayers money.

Get real Mr Goff! Pass the required restrospective legislation to prevent the payment authorised by judges who are out of touch.

You say you are acting from public preasure: accept the assistance from opposition parties to pass the necessary legislation and make "prisoners" realise that PRISONS are just that.
