Zaoui Book Event To Be Held In Beehive Foyer
An event to promote the book on the Ahmed Zaoui case “I Almost Forgot About The Moon – The Disinformation Campaign Against Ahmed Zaoui” will be held in Wellington in the Beehive foyer, Parliament Buildings, on Wednesday October 20 at 5:45pm.

The public and media are welcome to attend this event. To get your e-invitation you will need to email matt.robson@parliament.govt.nz or keith.locke@parliament.govt.nz who will email you back an invitation which you will need to print off to show Beehive security.
Speakers will include the book’s co-author Selwyn Manning, CTU president Ross Wilson, Amnesty International’s New Zealand director Ced Simpson, and Ahmed Zaoui’s counsel Deborah Manning.
I Almost Forgot About The Moon is published by Multimedia Investments Limited and costs just $17.00 inc GST and including postage costs inside New Zealand. Proceeds from this book will go to Ahmed Zaoui’s wife and children.

Justice and human struggle are themes recurring in many
major non fiction investigations, but seldom has New Zealand

now known as the Ahmed Zaoui case. Since his arrival at
Auckland International Airport on December 4 2002, Ahmed
Zaoui’s sheer presence has challenged New Zealand’s
immigration laws and the New Zealand Security Intelligence
Service’s ability to accurately and independently acquire
information.
I Almost Forgot About The Moon examines Ahmed Zaoui’s life, interviews his colleagues, his family, political and international commentators, and New Zealand politicians, and investigates why he is considered a danger by Algeria, why he has convictions in Europe, why New Zealand’s SIS believed him to be a security risk, why New Zealand’s immigration laws are unable to determine a timely outcome, and offers examples of legal reform that would ensure New Zealand remains a just and fair country where an individual’s rights are considered equal to those of the state.
