Fisheries Mediation Makes Progress

Fisheries Mediation Makes Progress

“Fishery Officers have withdrawn their threat of industrial action in the meantime given some progress made in mediation,” Martin Cooney, organiser with the National Union of Public Employees (NUPE) said today.

“Mediation occurred on 3rd November on issues including the Proposal for Change, the Collective Employment Agreement, and Health and Safety issues,” said Martin Cooney. “The parties made progress on existing and outstanding issues and agreed to meet again on 22 Nov 04.”

Please note - No further comment on this issue will be made in the meantime. Martin Cooney

Note to reporters: I am away on leave during period 5 to 15 November. This includes the period (10 November) when the decision on the Proposal for Change is announced. If you wish to have comment on the outcome post 10 November, please contact Nadine Marshall Secretary NUPE.
