Aid Fundraising – Police & Fire truck pulling race

Tsunami Fundraising – Police and Fire truck pulling race

Police and Fire staff will be racing each other in a ‘Truck Pulling’ competition on Lambton Quay on Monday January 17 2005.

The event has been organised to raise funds for the victims of the recent Tsunami in Asia. The race will start at 12.30pm with partial road closures in place between 12.15 – 12.45pm.

It will take place in the northbound lane, with the start line being just south of the Brandon Street intersection. The race will finish at the pedestrian crossing opposite Midland Park.

Both Police and Fire staff will be in uniform collecting donations from the public, with all funds raised going to Red Cross who will have representatives at the event.

Wellington Police are challenging all other Police Stations to equal or better any funds raised.

The organisers wish to thank Freight Lines owner operators who are kindly supplying the trucks used, Fulton Hogan who are assisting with road closures, and Police and Fire staff who have been very willing to give up their free time to help with the event.
