Make Sure You Vote Says Labour

Think seriously about your vote. And then make sure you vote at this election.

That's the message from Manukau City Councillor and Labour Party List candidate, Su'a William Sio in the lead up to the General Election this Saturday.

Manukau have always been a stronghold for Labour and people continue to support Labour. Community meetings and public events around the city indicate strong support for Labour and Helen Clark. "But it is still a tough fight and there's a lot to lose. So I am encouraging everyone to get out and vote," says Su'a.

"If you are going to a wedding, birthday or other event, then go to a polling booth early in the day to avoid missing out. If you are going to be moving around on Election Day, then go and cast an early vote now."

"By casting a vote at this election, you and I will be deciding who will become the Prime Minister of New Zealand and what kind of future do you want for New Zealand. Do you want a Prime Minister who is promoting collective responsibility for our health system, for our education system, for affordable housing for all families, for supporting families and young children, and looking after the elderly and the sick?

"Or do you want someone who is promoting greed and racial intolerance in our communities, and promoting the law of the jungle where only the strong and the wealthy survive?"

Su'a is urging all Pacific people to vote at this election. "I am urging people to think seriously about your vote. This election comes down to:

Leadership and the kind of future we want - and who we trust to lead - Helen Clark or Don Brash. The differences are huge."

"When people make the leadership comparisons and also compare the political policies of different political parties, I am confident that that they will do the right thing for all New Zealanders.

"And the right thing I believe is a vote for Labour."

"Remember: Give two ticks to Labour and keep New Zealand moving forward. Together."
