MFAT Bali Bombing Update Afternoon 3 October
The Ministry
0800 number has so far received enquiries about 550 people,
of whom 410 have been confirmed alive and well.
New
Zealanders concerned about family and friends in Kuta and
Jimbaran should try to contact them directly in the first
instance.
Two staff from the New Zealand embassy in
Jakarta and a New Zealand Police officer are in Bali
continuing checks for New Zealand casualties.
New
Zealanders in Bali are advised to exercise extreme caution
and to contact family and friends in New Zealand to confirm
they are safe.
We have had a report of a New Zealand man
injured in one of the explosions. The man's injuries were
not serious, and he was not admitted to hospital. We have no
word of any other New Zealand casualties.
