Press Release: Anthony Haas
Rod Donald 1957-2005
Rod Donald MP, who died prematurely
on 7 November, was an early supporter of citizenship
education. He was a member of the MPs Editorial Committee
guiding the tone of the Decisionmaker Guide to Parliament
and Government, encouraging it since Parliamentary Service
asked me to develop this service in 1990.
He advocated
long term, stable arrangements for the provision of
citizenship education.
He played a crucial role in
advocating for the establishment of the proportional
representation system - MMP - shaping the work of New
Zealand's Parliament.
I add my tributes to him. He will be
missed.
