2011 RUGBY WORLD CUP PRESS
RELEASE
Congratulations to NZRU And the People of New
Zealand
South African Honorary Consul in New Zealand
Gregory Fortuin this morning congratulated the NZRU and the
people of New Zealand in winning the rights to host the 2011
Rugby World Cup. “In terms of demographics New Zealand might
be dwarfs, but the All Blacks are definitely the Giants of
International Rugby and fully deserve the opportunity”
according to Fortuin.
Fortuin said “whilst the on-field
rivalry between the BOKS and the ALL BLACKS has always been
uncompromisingly fierce, our relationship has been
characterized by mutual respect and an endearing
friendship”
“The rugby mad South African Nation is
understandably disappointed, but bighearted enough to warmly
extend their congratulations not just to the NZRU but
especially the people of New Zealand”.
