Revised Arrival Time For Return Of NZ Troops To Christchurch

The contingent of 44 New Zealand regular and territorial force soldiers returning from the Solomon Islands is now due to arrive at Christchurch International Airport at 11.50pm.

The Royal New Zealand Air Force C-130 Hercules transporting them home departed Honiara airport at 4.15pm, New Zealand time.

The contingent has been serving in the Pacific country for four months assisting the Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands.

During their deployment the contingent assisted security efforts in the country by conducting regular patrols through downtown Honiara and helping with external security at Rove Prison.
