Gisborne Hit by Cyclone - Tournado Picks Up Speed

Gisborne Hit by Cyclone - Tournado Picks Up Speed

As the rest of the country sweltered under drought conditions last week, Gisborne was hit by a three day cyclone.

Founder of the Sensible Sentencing Trust Garth McVicar stormed into town on a whirl-wind speaking tour – eight different functions in three days including Campion College, Rotary, Lions, Probus and U3A.

McVicar left a lasting impression on all who heard him with comments such as, “The most motivational speaker I have ever had the privilege of listening to” and “The best speaker I have ever heard – pity there are not more New Zealanders like Garth McVicar.”

Tour organiser Maree Proudfoot had heard Garth speak at the Gisborne Professional Women’s Club some months ago and was so inspired by the Sensible Sentencing Trust message she decided to undertake bringing Garth back to Gisborne to ensure his message was more widely heard.

“The break-down in traditional family values and the resulting escalating level of violence is something that concerns us all, said Maree. “Garth McVicar has a message that I think all New Zealanders should hear, in typical Kiwi can-do fashion Garth and his wife Anne have built the Sensible Sentencing Trust into a credible voice that is now representing the silent majority.”

McVicar told his audiences that the public had been used as puppets in a thirty year politically correct social experiment that has been a disaster for New Zealand, “We are now paying the price – escalating violent crime and prison populations.”

“A vocal minority have effectively hi-jacked our country as weak-kneed politicians have bowed to their liberal demands – the soft on crime experiment has been a dismal failure that has created thousands of victims whose needs have been totally ignored by past and present Governments.

Speaking at Campion College McVicar told the students that New Zealand had sent soldiers overseas to fight in many wars. “These brave soldiers fought and died to ensure our freedom. “But my generation – the baby boomers have been lax – we have taken our freedom for granted – violent crime is now out of control and citizens are becoming prisoners in their own homes.”

“The only way we can counter this is to build an army, an army of good common-sense people to counter the P C liberal movement that has allowed this to happen”.

As one of those who heard McVicar put it, “

"The silent majority has finally found its voice in the Sensible Sentencing Trust. It is an excellent vehicle - in fact the only vehicle through which we can have our views heard."

"The message is a reality check; it's hard-hitting, honest and visionary."

Garth believes it's time to redress the balance, seize back control and fight for our futures.
“Our silence has been seen as consent – it is time the silent majority spoke out and joined the Sensible Sentencing Trust.”

And if Gisborne is anything to go by, not only is the army on the move – but the invasion has begun!"
