Man Faces Two Charges After Sexual Assault on Elderly Woman

A 49 year old male will appear in the North Shore District Court tomorrow on TWO charges related to the sexual assault of a 73 year old woman in her home at Mangawhai late last night.
The charges are :
1. Aggravated Burglary - Maximum Penalty is 14 years Imprisonment.
2. Attempted Sexual Violation - Maximum Penalty is 10 years Imprisonment.
Rodney CIB do not rule out the prospect that further charges may be laid.
The man was arrested in Mangawhai by Rodney CIB investigators this afternoon after some strong leads and excellent information from the public. He is now in Police custody.
