Charles Kenneth Morgan To Be Extradited From Australia New Zealand Police Wellington News Release

17 August 2007

An 83-year-old retired man is being extradited from Australia to face charges relating nine historic sexual offences involving four complainants.


Australian authorities arrested the Mr Morgan in New South Wales on Monday 13 August 2007 and he appeared in Australian Court on an extradition warrant.

Mr Morgan was originally arrested on 11 June 2004 in Wellington and appeared before the Courts in New Zealand.

He failed to return to New Zealand for a trial on 7 December 2005 in connection to crimes against three of the complainants.

Two Wellington detectives are traveling to Australia to return Mr Morgan to New Zealand.

He will appear before the Wellington High Court on Monday morning.

As the matter is before the Court Police can not comment further.
