No Honour In Retreat

No Honour In Retreat

There is no honour in retreat says Republican Leader Kerry Bevin, but republicans will be heading to Taupo this weekend for the first National Retreat of the RONZP.

After a year of bringing the Republican message to the Electorate we will now consolidate our position in preparation for the 2008 Election.

That is of course when we can stop living on assumptions, because we do not know when the new electoral regulations will become law, even though the current bill has the regulated period starting on the 1st January.

Politicians in National and Labour need to be reminded that electoral administrators will need time to discuss interpretation of key aspects of the Electoral Finance Act once it is passed.

“Surely National and Labour can reach a common understanding of how new regulations might work.  They did reach agreement on the anti smacking bill and then beat up on each other in parliament afterwards – couldn’t we apply the same principle to the election,” asks Mr Bevin.
