Bradnams workers suspend strike for mediation

Seventeen striking EPMU members at Rotorua aluminium fabrication company Bradnams Windows & Doors have voted to return to work this morning after the company agreed to urgent mediation with the Department of Labour.

The workers, most of whom earn between $12 and $14 an hour, walked off the job yesterday to try to get the company to honour the commitment it made last year to bring pay rates into line with their skills.

The mediation will take place in Hamilton tomorrow.
